It's hard to capture over 30 years of personal history, but here goes. After high school, I attended the University of Rochester and graduated with a degree in English. I taught high school English for a few years in northern New Jersey, and then I realized that so many of the students couldn't even read the material that I was assigning, so I pursued a Masters in the Psychology of Reading at Teachers College, Columbia U. During this time I married Geoffrey Greenberg, a Quaker Ridge alumnus! He was an urban planner then, but now he is a lawyer with a general practice in Red Bank, NJ. I have been working as a Reading Specialist for the past 25 years in a very diverse high school in central NJ. It's very different from Scarsdale High School; the kids in my classes are from every racial, ethnic and religious group around the world! Sometimes the job is very demanding, but it is mostly rewarding because I have touched the lives of so many students and really made an impact on their academic lives.

On the home front, Geoff and I have two great sons: Scott who is 14 and Alex who is 10. We live in Holmdel, NJ, which is about 45 miles south of NYC. We are located in Monmouth County, the start of the Jersey shore. We have the ocean about 20 minutes east of us, and to the west are farms and horses. It's a beautiful area to live and work! I feel pretty far removed from Scarsdale, but it would be fun to hear from old friends.
